Department of Economics, Samarth Mahavidyalaya Lakhani Established in 1964. The Department has grown in leaps and bounds in terms of developing good academic culture through the representation of its faculty members in Assignment at state as well as national Level. The first head of the department Prof. A.D. Kholkute 1 Aug 1967 to 28 Feb 2005 After this Dr. Manoj Kumar Bhowate did the work from 1 July 2006 to 9 Jan 2021. Currently Yuvraj Jambhulkar is working as CHB. The department organized various program throughout the Year, which programs like National Level Webinar on “Budget 2023” date on 11/02/2023 and Industrial visit at Ashok Leland company Gadegaon date on 11/11/2022.

Aims of the Department:

1. The Department aims to have a holistic development of the student by following a teaching pedagogy that imparts education in tune with the contemporary demand of Local.
2. The Department aspires for skill development of the student and making them employable in corporate and academic fields.
3. The Department can develop critical thinking skill which helps them to be creative in the economics field.
