Shikshan Maharshi Late Parshurampant Govindbapu Alias Bapusaheb Lakhanikar, the Founder of Rashtriya Shikshan Sanstha did Herculean task to fetch the upsurge of education in eastern region of Vidarbh. He opened the doors of education right from the Primary education to Post Graduation. He made available the education facility in Lakhani, Palandur, Salebhata area of Bhandara District as well as in the remote areas of Chichgarh in Gondia District. In 1964 he established Samarth Mahavidyala in Lakhani. Built a separate well facilitated building for the college. The college gained the immense popularity owing to its educational qualities, and advancing in the field of education and skill development among the students.

The college is ready to face the Third Cycle of NAAC accreditation. The Rashtriya Shikshan Sanstha is committed to the overall development of the students through its Samarth Mahavidyalaya Lakhani.

Samarth Mahavidyalaya was established in 1964. Today the college is advancing successfully towards the Platinum Jubilee year. The college has Arts, Commerce and Science faculties. Approximately 1500 students are taking education today in our college. The college is accredited twice by NAAC; acquired Grade ‘B’ with 2.57 CGPA and advancing to acquire Grade ‘A’ in the Third Cycle of NAAC. The college is committed to the overall development of the students having focus on its vision ‘Shilam Param Bhushanam’ and following the mission statement ‘Param Vaibhavam Netumetat Swarashtram.’

Today the college is producing well-cultured and well-character students. The college organizes various programs as per the need of the students and the society. There is NCC, NSS and Sport Department in the college. The students represent the college on State, National and International level.

About Mahavidyalaya

This college is run by the Rashtriya Shikshan Sanstha Lakhni, which was founded before independence of India in 1941.

Our Sanstha's founder Late Shikshan Maharshi Bapusaheb Lakhanikar was a great patriot and a major social worker. He dreamt of a beautiful, educated and civilized society & always tried to realize this dream. Throughout his life, he worked for the overall development of Rashtriya Shikshan Sanatha.

Lakhani is situated in the Maharashtra State of India. The district place is Bhandara Lakhani itself is a Taluka place. It is on the National Highway No.6. Lakhani is popularly known as the Pune of Vidharbha for its rich cultural and educational heritage. The orange city Nagpur is only 80 kilometers from Lakhani. The nearest airport is Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Air Port Nagpur. The nearest railway station is Bhandara Road.
