The Women Development Cell (WDC)

According to section 4 (1) (a) (b) (d) and 12 (1) of the Maharashtra Public University Act 2016, in the notification issued by the Union Government Ministry of Human Resource Development (University Grants Commission U.G.C.) dated 02 May 2016 and as per the instructions of the Vice-Chancellor of the Nagpur University, Committee against Sexual Exploitation and Gender Discrimination i.e. Women’s Grievance Redressal Committee, has established in our college. Dr. Sangeeta Hadge is the coordinator of this committee.

Women Development Cell (WDC) Objectives:

  1. To create awareness among girl students and women employees about social and legal rights
  2. To empower them to stand against any discrimination
  3. To provide a healthy and safe environment in the Institute for the girl students and women employees.

Convenor Women’s Grievance Redressal Committee:

A quarterly meeting was organized by the Principal Dr. Digambar Kapse, President of the Internal Women Grievance Redressal Committee, in the academic session 2022-23 and the following students were selected faculty wise.

Events:

  1. Considering the number of female employee and girl students enrolled in the college, guidance program was organized at the college level, on 18th November 2022 in I.C.T. room.
  2. A lecture was organized by Advocate Neelam Vaidya (Senior Prosecutor) Nyaya Mandir, Lakhani on the topic “Laws in the Prevention of Women”. Adv. Nilam Vaidya guided in a very simple terms to the students how to identify Good Touch & Bad Touch.
  3. An educational program of famous poetess Prof. Vijayatai Marotkar – “Pori Zara Japoon” was organized for the college girl students by Maharashtra Police Station, Gadegaon and Samarth College, jointly on Wednesday,18/01/2023.

Prof. Marotkar, in the melodious voice, narrated the experience of girls at every turn of life through his written poetry. He explained in his own language on women empowerment. Directly interacting with the students, he made the students vocal and make them feel free. The program ended with a question-and-answer session.

Students, Teachers, Professors from Schools, Colleges and industrial training institutes Gadegaon, Tah.- Lakhani were presented .

International Women’s Day was organized on March 9, 2023. Chief speaker of the program Mrs. Archana Sarve (Principal Martandrao Kapgate Junior College, Jambli Road) asserted that self-reliance is the need for girl children.

On this occasion of International Women’s Day, nearly 6 students from Arts, Commerce and Science departments of our college expressed their opinion.

The program was compered by Prof. Ankita Khedikar, while the program was proposed by Dr. Sangita Hadge and vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Manisha Madankar.
