Department of Sanskrit

Samarth College, Lakhani, run by the Rashtriya Shikshan Sanstha, Lakhani, started its Undergraduate Department in 1997 and its Postgraduate Department in 2009. ShikshanMaharshi Bapusaheb Lakhanikar, the founder of the institute, encouraged to start the Sanskrit subject and department with the noble intention of making the students of the rural areas aware and knowledgeable about the subject of Sanskrit. On July 11, 1989, on the occasion of the silver jubilee program of Samarth College, the then Vice-Chancellor Dr. M. G. Bokre was present. Then ShikshanMaharshi Bapusaheb Lakhanikar, the founder of the institute, proposed to teach Sanskrit subjects to the students. On the occasion of Gita Jayanti in 1991, Sanskrit Sanskar Kendra was established by Nagpur University Sanskrit Studies Board President. Done by Dr. Pankaj Chande. Dr. Sridhar Bhaskar Varnekar and Sanskar Bharti took the record that through the Sanskrit Sanskar Kendra an environment of Sanskrit was created in rural areas like Lakhani. Bapusaheb Lakhnikar promoted a lot that even in rural areas like Lakhani, where there is no Sanskrit subject in any college, students learn Sanskrit on a large scale. From 1991 to 2003, Maintained by Dr. Ramchandra Arvikar. From December 6, 2005 to October 1, 2020 Prof. Dr. Chitra Chavade served as the head of the Sanskrit department. Many dignitaries in the society have given awards and prizes to encourage students to learn Sanskrit subjects. Prof. Arun N. Kadbe, From Lakhani himself. Balkrishna N. Kadabe Smriti and Hon. Bhanudasji Vanjari, Lakhani from Shri Govindrao Laxmanrao Vanjari B. A. Prizes are awarded to those who score the highest marks in Sanskrit in the third examination. Also Mr. From Pramod Kumar Shukla, Murmadi/Savari. Mrs. Kalpana Pramod Shukla Smriti M. A. A prize is awarded to the first topper in the Sanskrit examination. From Sanskrit Subject Deepika Haribhau Nirwan, M. A. Sanskrit 77% Passed and through this she joined Yashwantrao Chavan Institute of Science, Satara on 19th July 2021 as 11th-12th junior college teacher to teach Sanskrit subject. from this department Rupali Arun Khedikar passed the Maharashtra SET exam on September 2021. This is the achievement of this department.

Subhashit and Manache Shlokas are taken for daily prayers on behalf of this department. Also, Sanskrit Subhashita Recitation Competition, Storytelling Competition, Poetry Recitation Competition, Bhagavad Gita Verse Recitation Competition, Sanskrit Handwriting Competition, Manuscript Competition, Mind Verse Recitation Competition, Sanskrit Subhashita Compilation Competition are conducted regularly. Along with this, many seminars and seminars have been organized by the Sanskrit department.
